Concept
Overall Concept
My design was inspired by the Tobacco flower also known as ‘Only the Lonely’ (see gallery below). The flower inspired the overall architectural shape and feature pendant light. The framework, including the counter is made from black MDF. The pendant light is a sheer white material with flickers of silver woven into the fabric. LED globes hang down from the center of the pendant mimicking the pollen of the flower. The floor is covered with Astroturf to give an outdoor feel to the space. The BLOOMS logo is displayed on the front of the counter.
Counter:
The counter has a small round sink, work bench space and a built in/ under the counter POS system under a glass top. Pot plants can be placed around the front and sides maximizing the small floor space.
Green wall:
The focus of the design is the changeable green wall. Flower buckets sit on a 45-degree angle in the circle slots. The flexibility of the wall means that the product and colour arrangement of the flowers can change every day. The flower green wall is where 95% of the product will be placed.
Storage and Lockup:
The kiosk can be locked up at the end of the day, with security gates that are hidden within the structure. This area also serves as a small storage room.
